Tour of the Quizably admin
A guide to every Quizably admin screen: Dashboard, quizzes list and its actions, Question Bank, Leads, Integrations, Settings, and the quiz builder.
Quizably adds a Quiz Builder menu to the WordPress admin. This page explains what each screen does and where to find common tasks.
The menu
The Quiz Builder menu has six items in this order:
- Dashboard
- All Quizzes
- Question Bank
- Leads
- Integrations
- Settings
Inside the Quizably screens, a sidebar groups the same screens as Overview (Dashboard), Build (Quizzes, Question Bank), Engage (Leads, Integrations) and System (Settings). The sidebar item is called Quizzes where the WordPress menu says All Quizzes. The sidebar also has a Collapse button.
Only Administrators can open these screens.
Dashboard
The Dashboard opens with a greeting and a New quiz button.
Summary tiles:
| Tile | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total quizzes | Counts of published, draft and archived quizzes |
| Submissions | Completed quizzes in the last 30 days |
| Leads captured | Form submissions in the last 30 days |
| Completion rate | Completed submissions divided by all started submissions, all-time |
Below the tiles are two charts, “Submissions, last 30 days” and “Top quizzes, last 30 days”.
The Recent quizzes panel lists your last five edited quizzes. Click one to open it. Quick actions links to Review leads, Connect a tool and Browse question bank.
See Analytics for how the numbers are calculated.
All Quizzes
The quizzes list is titled “Your quizzes”. From here you create, find and manage every quiz.
Header buttons
- New quiz opens the creation flow. See Create a new quiz.
- Import quiz accepts a
.jsonfile exported from Quizably. - List view and Card view switch the layout. List view is the default.
Finding quizzes
Use the search box (“Search by title or tag…”) and the dropdowns:
- Status: All statuses, Draft, Published, Archived.
- Type: All types, Personality, Trivia, Survey, Poll.
- Sort: Last updated, Recently created, Title A-Z.
The list shows 20 quizzes per page. Columns are Title, Type, Status, Submissions, Completion and Updated.
Row actions
Open a quiz’s action menu to see:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit | Opens the quiz in the builder |
| Duplicate | Makes a copy named ” |
| Export | Downloads the quiz as a JSON file |
| Set to draft / Publish | Hides or shows the quiz on your site |
| Archive / Restore | Moves a quiz out of the way without deleting it |
| Delete | Asks “Delete this quiz?” and permanently removes the quiz with its questions, results, submissions and leads |
Publishing and unpublishing happen only here, not inside the builder. See Export and import a quiz.
The quiz builder
Clicking Edit (or creating a quiz) opens the builder full screen. The top bar has a back arrow, an editable title, a save status, a sliders icon for Design settings, Back, Save, and a Next button that moves to the next tab.
Tabs depend on the quiz type:
| Quiz type | Tabs in order |
|---|---|
| Personality | Overview, Results, Questions, Intro, Form, Integrations, Settings, Summary |
| Trivia | Overview, Questions, Score bands, Intro, Form, Integrations, Settings, Summary |
| Survey | Overview, Questions, Result, Intro, Form, Integrations, Settings, Summary |
| Poll | Overview, Questions, Tally, Intro, Form, Integrations, Settings, Summary |
Design is not a tab. It opens in a drawer from the sliders icon.
Each tab is covered on its own page: Questions tab, Results tab, Intro screen, Lead capture form, Webhooks, and Design and backgrounds. The Summary tab is where you copy the shortcode. The per-quiz Settings tab holds quiz behavior options and the Analytics section.
Question Bank
The Question Bank is a library of reusable questions. You can add, search, filter by tag, duplicate and delete them. In a quiz, Insert from bank on the Questions tab copies one in. The bank supports Single choice, Multi choice and True / false questions. See Question bank.
Leads
Leads lists every form submission across your quizzes, with search by email, a quiz picker, date filters and Export CSV. Click the view icon on a row to open Lead detail, which shows contact details, the result and the answers. See Leads dashboard.
Integrations
The Integrations screen has a Webhook card where you can set a Default webhook URL. A quiz that has no webhook URL of its own sends to it. You can still set a different Webhook URL per quiz, in each quiz’s Integrations tab, and use Send test there. See Webhooks.
Settings
Settings has sections for plugin-wide options: Branding (brand and accent color), Defaults (template, font, button shape and form position for new quizzes), Notifications and Email (alerts to you, sender, Reply-To matches lead email, alert subject and body), Privacy (default consent text), Roles and access, Integrations, and a Danger zone with Reset all. The branding and defaults apply to quizzes you create afterward. Changes save automatically. See Settings and Email notifications.
