The Results tab and result screens
Every field on a result: title, content, image, button, redirect, share buttons, background and more. Plus result order and the result shortcode.
The results tab is where you write what visitors see when a quiz ends. This page lists every field available on a result and explains how many results each quiz type allows.
Tab names and result counts
The tab has a different name depending on the quiz type.
| Quiz type | Tab name | How many results |
|---|---|---|
| Personality / Result | Results | As many as you need |
| Trivia / Score-based | Score bands | As many as you need, one per score range |
| Survey / Form | Result | Exactly one (the thank-you screen) |
| Poll / Single question | Tally | Exactly one (the thank-you screen) |
For surveys and polls, the Add result button becomes Single result once one exists. See Surveys and polls.
New results are named “Result N” (personality, survey, poll) or “Tier N” (trivia).
Result order
Results are kept in a list on the left of the tab. The order matters:
- In a personality quiz, the first result in the list wins a tie.
- In a trivia quiz, the first band that contains the score wins if ranges overlap.
- If no result matches, the visitor is shown the first result.
Check the order before you publish. See How personality scoring works and How trivia scoring works.
Add and edit a result
- Open the quiz and click the results tab.
- Click Add result.
- Edit the text directly on the canvas, then use the properties panel for everything else.
To delete a result, use the delete action on its list item and confirm the prompt. Deleting cannot be undone.
Result fields
Content
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Result title | The heading of the result card. For surveys, an empty title shows “Thanks!”. For polls it shows “Thanks for voting”. |
| Content | A rich text description. Use it to explain what the result means |
| Image | Choose Add image and pick a file from the media library. Choose Image fit (Contain, Cover or Repeat) and a Height (default 240 px) |
In a personality quiz, the canvas also shows “Answers mapping to this result” and a count. In a trivia quiz it shows the Score range.
Layout
| Setting | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Alignment | Left, Center, Right | Center |
| Vertical alignment | Top, Center, Bottom | Top |
| Background | Toggle on, upload a background image, set Overlay opacity | Off |
Score range (trivia only)
Set Min and Max for the band. Both ends are inclusive and the first matching band wins. See How trivia scoring works.
On completion
Under On completion you choose what happens when the visitor reaches this result.
Show result displays the result card. You can add a button below it:
- Button label (for example “Shop my match”)
- Button URL (for example https://…)
The button opens the link in a new tab.
Auto-redirect sends the visitor to another page instead. Enter a Redirect URL. The panel warns: “The result card won’t be shown. When the visitor finishes the quiz, they’re redirected to the URL above immediately - your title, content, image, and CTA are skipped.”
Note: With Auto-redirect, the visitor never sees the result card, the share buttons or the Retake quiz button. Use it only when the next page does the talking.
Social sharing
Under Social sharing, Show share buttons is on by default. You can choose which buttons appear under Platforms:
- X
All three are selected by default. The buttons share the address of the page the visitor is on, not a separate link for their individual result.
Retake
Every result screen shows a Retake quiz button that starts a new run. There is no setting to hide it.
Optional result chart
Some results can show a chart of the outcome. A trivia result can show correct versus wrong answers and a personality result can show vote shares. Survey and poll results never show a chart.
The shareable result shortcode
The shortcode [quizably_quiz_result] prints a result card on any page. It takes no options.
It reads a submission ID from the page address. The address must include ?quizably_result= followed by a submission’s UUID. When it finds a matching submission, it prints:
- The quiz title
- The result title and content
- A “Score:” line
- The result’s button
If there is no ID, it prints nothing. If the ID does not match, it prints “Result not found.”
Note: Quizably does not create these links for you. The share buttons use the current page, not a result link. You would need to build the address yourself, and you need the submission’s UUID to do it. Most sites do not need this shortcode.
How the result is picked
| Quiz type | Rule |
|---|---|
| Personality | Most votes wins, ties go to the first result |
| Trivia | First band whose range contains the score |
| Survey and poll | Always the one result you added |
