Templates

The four Quizably templates (Classic, Minimal, Full Screen, Conversational): how each looks and behaves, and how to choose or change one.

A template sets the overall look and layout of your quiz: how the screens are framed, where the question counter sits and how the page is filled. Quizably includes four templates: Classic, Minimal, Full Screen and Conversational.

Every template shows one question at a time, followed by the intro, the optional lead form and the result. Colors, fonts, backgrounds and most layout settings can be changed after you pick a template.

Tip: See each template running on the live template demos before you choose.

What each template does

TemplateLayoutQuestion counter
ClassicA bordered card, 640 px wide by default. The “Question x of y” line above each question.
MinimalA page wide stage with no card.An “n / total” counter on question screens.
Full ScreenA fixed, full viewport overlay in a dark tint built from your text and brand colors. An “n / total” counter in a top navigation bar.
ConversationalA chat style flow.A thin progress track above the conversation.

Every question screen in every template also carries the text “Question n of N”. The free plugin has no progress bar setting.

Classic

Classic draws a bordered card in the middle of the content area. The card width defaults to 640 px. In the Design drawer you can switch between Card and Full width, change the card width, set a minimum height and show or hide the card border.

Minimal

Minimal drops the card and lets the quiz sit on the page itself. It is the lightest option and blends into most themes. The layout sliders in the Design drawer apply to it.

Full Screen

Full Screen takes over the whole viewport. The quiz is shown as a fixed overlay that covers the page while the visitor takes it, so it suits a dedicated landing page more than a quiz placed between paragraphs of a post.

Its colors are labeled differently in the Design drawer: Brand, Background, Dark tone and Text (default white). Because the text is white by default, pair a background image with a dark overlay. A light overlay washes the text out.

Full Screen does not offer the Card or Full width layout choice.

Conversational

Conversational presents the questions as a conversation, with a thin progress track above it that fills as the visitor moves through the quiz.

Choose a template for a new quiz

  1. Click New quiz on the Dashboard or the All Quizzes list.
  2. Choose Start Blank. Pick a quiz type, then on the Choose a template step click one of the four tiles.
  3. Enter the Quiz title and click Create quiz.

If you start from Choose a Template instead, the starter quizzes come with a template already set. You can filter the gallery by template (Classic, Minimal, Full Screen, Conversational) and then change it later.

Change the template on an existing quiz

  1. Open the quiz in the builder.
  2. Click the sliders icon in the top bar, labeled Design settings, to open the Design drawer.
  3. In the Template section, click a different template tile.
  4. A toast reads “Template applied” with the template name.
  5. Click Save in the drawer.

Changing the template keeps your questions, answers and results. Nothing in the drawer is saved automatically, so click Save (or use Next in the top bar) to keep the change.

Note: The Default template option in the plugin Settings does not preselect a template in the New quiz window. Choose the template for each quiz as you create it.

After you pick one

  • Edit colors, fonts, text size, button style and animation in the Design drawer. See Design, colors and backgrounds.
  • Set an image and overlay for individual screens from each tab’s properties panel.
  • Test the quiz on the page where you embed it, since the page theme and width affect how it looks. See Embed a quiz.
