Question Bank

Keep reusable questions in the Question Bank and insert them into any quiz. Covers the three supported types, tags, search and limits.

The Question Bank is a library of reusable questions. You write a question once, then insert a copy into any quiz from the Questions tab.

Open it from Quiz Builder, then Question Bank in the WordPress menu, or Question Bank under Build in the plugin sidebar.

What the bank supports

The bank holds three question types:

Dropdown, Short text and Rating questions cannot be stored in the bank. A bank question can have up to 12 answers.

Add a question to the bank

  1. Open Question Bank and click Add question.
  2. In the New bank question drawer, fill in Question text.
  3. Optionally add Helper text (optional).
  4. Choose the Type.
  5. Under Answers, write each answer and turn on Correct where it applies. Click + Add answer for more.
  6. Add Tags (type a tag and confirm it) to group questions by topic.
  7. Click Add to bank.

To change a question later, click its row, edit it in Edit bank question and click Save changes.

Note: Questions are added to the bank from the Question Bank screen. The builder has no action to save an existing quiz question to the bank, so write the question in the bank to reuse it.

Find questions

  • Use the search box (“Search question text…”) to find a question by its text.
  • Use the type filter: All types, Single choice, Multi choice or True / false.
  • Click a tag chip to filter by tag. Chips show counts. Click Clear tags to reset.

Each row shows the question, a type badge, up to three tags, Used in N and the last updated time. Icon buttons on the row duplicate or delete the question. Deleting asks for confirmation.

Insert a bank question into a quiz

  1. Open the quiz and go to the Questions tab.
  2. Click Insert from bank.
  3. In Insert from question bank, search with “Search bank questions…”.
  4. Click Insert on the row you want. A toast reads “Inserted from bank”.
  5. Edit the new question in the quiz if needed, then Save.

You can insert the same bank question into as many quizzes as you like.

Points and result mapping

Bank questions carry their answers and the Correct flag. They do not know about the quiz they end up in.

  • In a trivia quiz, check the Pts value on each correct answer. Correct answers with 0 points score nothing.
  • In a personality quiz, map each answer to a result using the result button on the answer row.

Limits

  • Only the three types above are supported.
  • There is no import or export for the bank itself. To move whole quizzes between sites, use Export and import quizzes.
